Nuvei Voices: Meet Marina Reysher

Full Stack Team Lead | Israel

For Marina Reysher, technology has always been about more than just writing code. Over the past three and a half years at Nuvei, she has progressed from Developer to Full Stack Team Lead, helping shape the internal systems that support teams across the business while building a leadership style grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning.

Today, Marina leads the development of Nuvei’s internal back office systems - the tools that help employees across the globe work more efficiently every day. Her role sits at the intersection of Product, UX/UI, QA, and Engineering, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on development work.

“I love being deeply involved in development. Staying hands-on keeps me connected to the codebase and allows me to better support the team. I enjoy creating an environment where people can support each other, continue learning, and focus on doing their best work.”

Growing from developer to leader

Starting as a developer gave Marina a strong understanding of the systems, challenges, and realities engineers face day to day; experience that continues to influence how she makes decisions and leads today.

“As I moved into leadership, my focus shifted from individual delivery to enabling the success of the wider team. A big part of leadership is helping remove blockers, creating alignment, and making sure people feel supported.”

Marina leads with a people-first approach and believes good leadership starts with trust, transparency, and creating space for others to grow.

“I want the team to feel empowered to focus on meaningful work and bring forward ideas openly. When people understand the bigger picture and feel supported, collaboration becomes much stronger.”

Building smarter systems with AI

One of the projects Marina is most proud of is the modernization of Nuvei’s internal back-office ecosystem. The initiative involves replacing legacy infrastructure with more scalable, intelligent systems designed to better support teams globally.

A key focus has been exploring how AI can improve workflows and reduce manual effort across the business, helping teams work smarter and more efficiently.

“We’re constantly asking ourselves, ‘How can AI make this better?’ AI has the potential to remove repetitive or high-friction tasks, allowing developers and team members to spend more time focusing on creativity, innovation, and solving real problems.”

The value of continuous learning

Alongside leading a global development team, Marina is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science - something driven by her continuous desire to keep learning and evolving.

“I’m really interested in understanding the ‘why’ behind the ‘how.’ Technology evolves incredibly quickly, especially with AI and modern system architecture, so continuing to learn and develop is really important to me.”

Outside of further education, she regularly attends tech meetups, follows emerging technologies closely, and stays connected to the wider engineering community.

Thriving in a global environment

For Marina, one of the most exciting aspects of working at Nuvei is the global scale of the business and the impact of the systems her team builds.

“The tools we develop support colleagues all over the globe, which creates a real sense of responsibility and purpose. You’re not just building for one office or one region - you’re building solutions that help teams everywhere.”

Based in Nuvei’s Israel office, Marina describes the culture as both ambitious and supportive.

“There’s a strong culture of transparency and directness here in the Israel office, which helps us move quickly and solve problems efficiently. At the same time, there’s a real sense of mutual respect and support that makes the environment feel very collaborative.”

Advice for future developers

For anyone starting a career in software development, Marina believes strong foundations and a willingness to keep learning matter more than chasing trends.

“Focus on understanding the meaning behind the code, not just the latest tools. Strong fundamentals will help you adapt as technology evolves. Don’t underestimate the value of smaller or routine tasks - they’re often where you gain the deepest understanding and build trust within a team.”

Life outside of work

Outside of work, Marina enjoys switching off with a good TV series, spending time with family and friends, and planning future travel adventures. One of her biggest personal goals is to see as much of the world as possible.
