Celebrating International Women's Day & Women’s History Month
This year's IWD theme, Give to Gain, is a reminder that real progress happens when equal opportunities are given to women to lead, grow, and thrive. We are spotlighting some of the remarkable women across Nuvei - their journeys, their insights, and the lessons that have shaped them.

From boardrooms to front lines, from London to Lithuania, we are celebrating the voices and experiences of women at Nuvei and the women around us who continue to break barriers, support others, and shape communities and industries around the world - this week, this month, and every day.
Women shaping Nuvei
"Moving from Board Member of Lithuanian entity Nuvei, UAB, to VP Banking, MD, was a moment that showed the trust Nuvei had placed in me, and a reminder that growth can come in many unexpected forms."
Laura’s path to VP Banking, MD, is unlike most. After four years serving on the Nuvei Board - overseeing compliance, risk, and governance - she stepped into a full-time leadership role heading the EU banking business. A deep believer that strong regulatory foundations enable rather than restrict innovation, she leads a role she describes as “holding all four corners of the house”, touching products, operations, compliance, and customer experience.

"Take advantage of thetalented people around you. Stay curious, go the extra mile, and do your bestwork. There are real opportunities at Nuvei for people who want to grow."
Laura Poderienė
VP, Banking
Vilnius, Lithuania
Women leading at Nuvei
"I started in the call centre myself and relied on many people to help guide me. To now see others follow similar paths and grow into strong leaders is something I'm incredibly proud of."
Jaclyn joined Nuvei in her twenties in what she thought would be a short-term role. Fifteen years and seven positions later, she leads Customer Success - grounded in empathy and understanding built from her years on the front line of Technical Support, and driven by a conviction that the best ideas come from those closest to the work. Her proudest achievement? Not a project or a milestone… but watching others grow into leaders themselves.

"Starting on the front line really shaped how I lead. I never forget what it felt like to be on the phones, working directly with customers. That keeps me grounded and empathetic."
Jaclyn Poole
VP, Customer Success
Manitoba, Canada
Women building at Nuvei
"Stay open-minded, embrace every challenge, and ask questions. Continuous learning is essential in our fast-paced industry - and it's what allows you to make a meaningful contribution from day one."
Nearly nine years into her Nuvei journey, Asya has grown from relationship management to training, and now product commercialization - helping teams across the business understand, adopt, and champion new solutions. She sits at the crossroads of Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing, translating technical complexity into clear value. One of her personal measures of success? How often colleagues come to her with questions.

"I love taking technical features and turning them into practical solutions that genuinely help our teams - and our customers - succeed."

Women growing at Nuvei
"I believe in practising the next role before you step into it. Hands-on experience builds confidence in ways training alone can't."
Zoe started her career at start-ups, learning to move fast and adapt constantly. Joining Nuvei gave her something new: applying that energy to a business at true global scale, across complex products and diverse markets. Leading Nuvei’s EMEA SDR team, she puts individuality at the heart of her leadership - because no two people are motivated the same way, and the best results come when you lead people as people, not just as a team.

"Joining Nuvei offered something I hadn't experienced before - working across regions, with complex products, and collaborating with colleagues all over the world."
Zoe Bennett
Head of SDR, EMEA
London, United Kingdom
Women learning at Nuvei
"Early in my career, I was quick to react - I wanted to solve problems immediately. Over time I've learned to balance urgency with patience, which has helped me both at work and in life."
Eighteen years. Countless milestones. One constant: Stanimira's drive to grow alongside Nuvei. From one of the first hires in Bulgaria joining when the team was just starting out, to leading Delivery Operations globally today, her journey is built on drive, collaboration, and the belief that operational excellence is a mindset, not just a metric. She leads with transparency, supports her teams through challenges as much as wins, and stays focused on what connects people across distance.

"Leadership isn't just about celebrating wins - it's about helping people navigate challenges, learn from mistakes, and feel empowered."
Stanimira Trencheva
VP, Delivery Operations
Sofia, Bulgaria
Conversations that matter
Several of our female senior leaders shared their experiences and insights in open, honest conversations about balance, confidence, imposter syndrome, and what it really means to lead with purpose in a fast-moving industry. Here are a few moments that stayed with us.

"Don't be afraid to raise your hand. Whether it's a new project, a networking opportunity, or simply speaking up in a meeting - everyone has valuable insights, and that's how we learn and grow together."
Abbie Clarke
VP, People Experience & Development, United States

"Imposter syndrome affects everyone - even the most confident voices in the room. What matters isn't who else is there; it's what you want to contribute and the value you bring to the conversation."
Lara Morgan
Associate General Counsel, United Kingdom

"Here's what I'd tell my younger self: want more, not less. The road is harder for some of us - let that sharpen you, not shrink you. That edge is yours to own. And the little eyes watching you from home? They were never holding you back. They are the whole point."
Hilla Peled
SVP AI & Data Science, Israel

"I used to think any success I achieved was in spite of being a woman. I was stupidly proud of that. Now I know my female point of view isn't the obstacle, but the edge. And honestly? That's the most liberating thing I've ever realised."
Alexandra Bucur
Head of Content, United Kingdom

"Be curious about the why behind what you’re working on and the impact it has beyond the immediate task. That broader view allows you to offer thoughtful guidance, spot what could be missed, and build the kind of trust that people come to rely on."
Suraiya Merali
Associate General Counsel, Canada

“Throughout my career, I’ve learned that real progress happens when we invest in others. Many of the opportunities I’ve had come from leaders who opened doors, shared their time and experience, and encouraged me to take on new challenges. Breaking barriers and leading through change is rarely done alone. When we support and elevate others, we strengthen our teams and the future of our industry.”
Christine Scappa
Chief Operating Officer, United States
